Motorola RFMS
Visual management tools for your Wi-Fi network
Whether used independently or as part of the Motorola RF Management Suite, Motorola RF Management Software is a highly scalable, intuitive, browser-based tool for Wi-Fi site monitoring and troubleshooting. Key performance indicators, RF heatmaps and over 200 statistics enable quick assessment of network health, while channel maps visually indicate areas of co-channel interference that can affect voice-over-IP (VoIP) performance. Additionally, RF Management Software can suggest the probable cause(s) of suspicious statistics. Users can view the status and location of wireless infrastructure devices and clients, locate rogue APs and rogue mobile devices, troubleshoot network issues, generate reports and export raw data. Statistics such as RF coverage, load balancing, redundancy, security level and network utilization are graphically displayed, allowing IT professionals to instantly assess network status.
Two ways to plan a better Wi-Fi network
When comprehensive wireless network planning is required, use LANPlanner with 3-D views, and support for multi-floor planning and AutoCAD file importing – then import network planning files into RF Management Software directly from LANPlanner*
When only basic planning is required, use the site planning tools within RF Management Software in order to create and modify Wi-Fi site coverage plans. Import floor plans, add networking equipment, place barriers such as walls or rooms, and define special zones for special coverage needs in a given area — easily and visually. Motorola RF Management Software even allows customized barrier attenuation levels, providing visual representation of the effects of different materials on RF interference.
Either way, Motorola allows IT professionals to plan a network before investing in wireless infrastructure equipment
Once the virtual site is set up, create a predicted heat map, export an AP installation plan and generate wireless switch/AP configuration data, making network deployment simple.
Quickly isolate Wi-Fi network issues with site monitoring and troubleshooting tools
Instantly assess the status of your wireless infrastructure with a graphical view of over two hundred network statistics. See KPIs, AP utilization, mobile device utilization, WLAN utilization, switch diagnostics, and specific device statistics at the click of a mouse. Real-time charts and graphs make it easy to tell where and when problems occur, so you can investigate and address them immediately. Determine which piece of equipment is causing a problem by searching for it based on IP address, MAC address, or description. RF Management Software can even suggest probable causes when issues arise. Reports are easy to generate, and all network data can be shared with other applications in Motorola’s suite of RF management tools, or exported to a CSV file for use in third-party applications.
Overseeing it all with site administration tools
Motorola RF Management Software allows for two different types of defined user roles: administrator and support. Administrators have full read/write access, and can create, modify, and delete projects. Support personnel have read-only access to those tools necessary for support and troubleshooting functions.
Additionally, when used as part of the Motorola RF Management Suite, RF Management Software shares the common MSP command console, so all network management tasks performed with Motorola tools can be accessed from the same dashboard.
